For more than sixty years a parliamentarian, and Prime Minister during the Second World War, Churchill turned to canvas for relief, clarity and joy. This major retrospective, the first since his death, brings together over 50 works, more than half from private collections and rarely seen in public.
Encounter sunlit Mediterranean landscapes, vivid Moroccan cityscapes, still lifes, portraits, and intimate views of Chartwell, his beloved home. Some were shown at the Royal Academy. Some were diplomatic gifts. Most were painted for the serious pleasure of the work itself.
Join us for talks, tours and creative workshops, by day and after hours, as we explore Churchill’s artistic practice, his influences, and art as an expression of quiet power.
