The Venue Hire Department is part of the wider commercial team with a department responsibility of generating income and increasing profitability. Reporting to the Senior Events Manager, the Events Administrator will support and facilitate the administrative needs of the department and facilitate the clear communication of information to the wider museum.
The key responsibilities include ensuring all administrative and financial procedures and documentation are maintained at all times and clients receive a polite and professional service. The role also includes assisting the Venue Hire team with event operations on both commercial and internal events, and managing small location hire shoots, private tours and proposals.
Salary, Benefits and Working Hours
The salary for this role is £31,500 per annum. In addition, the post-holder will receive 25 days paid annual leave including bank holidays and 2.5 ‘privilege’ days. Employees are also offered the following benefits:

The Development Department is responsible for generating over a third of the Wallace Collection’s annual income through a variety of income streams including individual donors, trusts and foundations and corporate partners. This income enables the Collection to achieve its principal aims outlined in the Museum’s strategy for 2025-2028: Making Culture Matter. The recently announced transformational masterplan will be a major focus for the Development Department in the years ahead and an opportunity to make a step-change in fundraising at the Wallace Collection.
The Development Manager: Trusts and Foundations role is to assist the department in delivering the revenue and capital targets. You will forge strong relationships with key trust and foundation funders, including the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with a focus on proactively seeking opportunities to secure multi-year funding and diversify the portfolio, while identifying and cultivating new opportunities. Excellent communication skills and a clear, concise and evidence-based writing style when conveying the Collection’s aims and ambitions to potential funders will be key to this role. Supporter care and stewardship also play an important part of the position.
Working closely with all departments at the museum and effective internal communication will be crucial for the success of the post holder. This role reports to the Head of Development.

The salary for this role is between £36,500 and £42,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience.
